Terms of Service

Last Updated: 4 November 2026

1. Who we are

The Caravan Database (TCD, we) is run by Roaring Software Pty Ltd ACN 699 182 271 ABN 38 699 182 271, registered office at Suite 3, 202 Hume Street, East Toowoomba QLD 4350. Contact: hello@thecaravandatabase.com.

2. These terms

These terms apply when you use our site. If you create an account, claim a profile or send an enquiry, we'll ask you to accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and our Editorial Policy explains how we check and correct what we publish.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't legally be limited.

3. Information on the site

We compare caravans using manufacturers' published specifications and public records. We work to keep this accurate, but specifications change, and some of ours will be out of date or missing.

Before you buy, or tow, confirm the details in writing with the manufacturer, and check the van's compliance plate and actual weights. "Specs confirmed by {brand}" means the brand told us those figures are current. It doesn't mean we tested them.

Our company checks report what public registers showed on the date stated. They are not a financial assessment or a recommendation.

4. Tools

Our towing, payload, loading, weighbridge, battery and valuation tools give general estimates from the figures entered and the data we hold. They aren't professional, engineering, legal or valuation advice, and they don't confirm that a vehicle and caravan are legal or safe together. Check your vehicle's and caravan's plates and handbooks, and weigh your rig before relying on any result.

5. Claiming a profile: the offer

(a) Claiming is free. There's no trial, no end date and no payment details.

(b) We won't start charging for the features listed on our offer page, for as long as we offer them.

(c) We may change or retire features. We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email if we retire a listed feature, unless we have to act sooner for legal or security reasons. We won't replace a listed feature with a paid version of the same thing.

(d) If we ever add paid extras, we won't offer them to a brand until we've sent it enquiries in two consecutive calendar months. Taking them is optional, and they'd have their own terms.

(e) Brands can't pay to rank higher or to change our comparisons or company checks. Claim status isn't a ranking factor. Accurate specs can change how a van sorts, because the default sort uses spec data.

(f) This clause doesn't promise that we'll keep operating the site. If we plan to close it, we'll try to give 60 days' notice.

6. Your account and claim

To claim a profile you must be authorised to act for the brand. Keep your login secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used it. We may ask for proof of authority, and we may review or reverse a claim made by someone who wasn't authorised.

7. What claiming does and doesn't do

Claiming lets you edit your specs, photos and copy, see enquiries and analytics, and confirm your specs. You must keep what you submit accurate and not misleading.

Claiming doesn't give you control of our rankings, comparisons, editorial content or company checks. If you think we've got something wrong, follow the corrections process in our Editorial Policy, where you can also ask us to publish a short statement from you.

We may correct or remove submitted content that we reasonably believe is inaccurate, misleading or unlawful, and we'll tell you when we do.

8. Content you give us

(a) You keep ownership of what you upload.

(b) You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, copy, resize, display and publish the photos, logos, video links, copy and specifications you submit, in order to run and promote the site, including search results, social posts and articles about your brand. We may let our service providers do this for us.

(c) You confirm that you own this content or have permission to give us this licence, including from photographers and designers, and that you've obtained any moral rights consents we need to use it as described here.

(d) If someone claims your content infringes their rights, we may remove it while the claim is sorted out, and we'll tell you.

9. If you leave

You can close your account or release your claim at any time by emailing us. Within 30 days we'll remove the photos, logos, video links and copy you uploaded from public pages. The licence then ends, except for backups kept for a limited time, and for copies already shared by third parties that we don't control.

Your profile can stay on the site, showing factual specifications and public company information, and marked as unclaimed. Leaving doesn't remove a brand from comparisons.

10. Enquiries

(a) Buyers. When you send an enquiry, we pass your name, contact details and message to the brand, or to its contact form, as the form explains. We don't sell caravans and aren't a party to anything you agree with a brand. We can't promise that a brand will reply.

(b) Brands. You may use a buyer's details only to respond to that enquiry and deal with what follows from it, and you're responsible for handling them lawfully. Don't add buyers to marketing lists without their consent.

(c) We send enquiries to unclaimed brands too, using an address or form we found. A brand can ask us to change or stop this at any time.

11. Our content and data

Our site, articles, comparisons, tools and data compilation belong to us or our licensors. Brand names and logos belong to their owners, and we use them to identify the brands and vans we describe. Showing a brand doesn't mean it endorses us or we endorse it.

You can link to and quote our pages with attribution. Don't bulk-copy, scrape or systematically extract our data, or use it to build a competing database or train AI models, without our written permission.

You must not interfere with the site, get around its security, submit false enquiries, or use it unlawfully.

12. Liability

(a) The Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that can't be excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes them.

(b) To the extent the law allows, where a guarantee can be limited, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

(c) To the extent the law allows, and if you use the site for business, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect loss or lost profits, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to AUD $100, or the amount you've paid us in that time if that's greater. This doesn't limit liability for fraud or for a brand's breach of clause 8(c) or 10(b).

(d) A party's liability is reduced to the extent the other party caused or contributed to the loss.

(e) If a brand's breach of clause 8(c) leads to a third-party claim against us, the brand will cover our reasonable loss from that claim, reduced to the extent we contributed. We must tell the brand promptly and act reasonably to limit the loss.

13. Suspending or ending access

We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe you've seriously breached these terms, misused enquiries, or put the site or others at risk. We'll tell you why and, unless it's urgent or unsafe, give you 14 days to fix the problem. Your brand's factual profile can remain.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for a good reason, such as a legal change, a new feature or a security issue. For a change that materially reduces your rights, we'll give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email. If you don't agree, you can close your account before the change starts, and clause 9 applies. We won't use this clause to start charging for listed features.

15. Transfer

We may transfer these terms to a buyer of the site or business, if the buyer takes on our obligations to you under them. We'll tell account holders by email.

16. General

Queensland law applies, and courts in Queensland can hear disputes, without limiting any right you have to use courts where you live under consumer law. Please tell us about a dispute first so we can try to fix it. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
